Description
The BMD-5 is a new generation of lightweight infantry fighting vehicle being developed for the Russian Airborne Troops. The new vehicle will feature an unmanned turret with a 100mm gun and 30mm automatic cannon. The engine will be placed in the frontal section of the vehicle providing enhanced survivability for the crew. The potential development of the BMD-5 was announced in September 2016.
