Description
The Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) FFX IV is a new class of lightweight anti-air warfare (AAW) frigate to be commissioned by 2030. The class is expected to consist of six vessels to be built by Hanwha Ocean. These frigates will be equipped with new four-face Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) multi-function radar developed domestically in South Korea. The weapon system will include a 5-inch naval gun, HaeGung surface-to-air missiles and C-STAR anti-ship missiles. These frigates will be powered by a single MT-30 gas turbine.
