Description

The CREX-B French Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is a micro-unmanned aerial vehicle (Micro-UAV) designed for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) missions. The CREX-B provides "organic" intelligence capabilities to small units. Instead of requesting support from higher command (which takes time), a squad leader can deploy the CREX-B to see behind a building or over a ridge immediately. Its electric motor makes it nearly silent at operational altitudes, preventing detection by the enemy.

Payload Capacity INA
Sensors and Payload The CREX-B carries a stabilized micro-gimbal that provides high-fidelity imagery despite the platform's small size. EO/IR Sensor: Dual-sensor payload combining: Electro-Optical (EO): Color daylight camera for positive identification. Infrared (IR): Uncooled thermal camera for night operations and heat signature detection (e.g., locating hidden personnel or vehicles). Targeting: Onboard video processing allows for target tracking and coordinate generation, which can be relayed to artillery or close air support units.
Launch Hand-launched (bungee or simple throw).
Recovery Deep-stall landing (belly landing) or parachute, allowing it to land in confined spaces without a runway.
