Description

The GQL-410 Chinese Assault Bridge System is intended for engineering support tank and mechanized troops. It allows tropps to overcome anti-tank trenches, small rivers and other similar obstacles. Before building the bridge, the span is moved apart in the horizontal plane. This solution has its advantages and disadvantages. The positive aspects include the comparative secrecy of the work being done, since the bridge unfolds in a horizontal position, low above the ground, and does not raise the vertical span to a height that the enemy can notice. Disadvantages include a more complex design, higher cost and slightly longer deployment time compared to so-called scissor bridges.
