The new variant also features maximized supportability and maintainability. The US Marine Corps (USMC) awarded Navistar Defense a $752 million contract on September 4, 2008, for the development and production of 822 MaxxPro Dash vehicles. The MaxxPro Dash is powered by the MaxxForce D engine. The new variant belongs to Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle category featuring enhanced survivability, mobility and adaptability.
