Description
The AN/TPS-703 is a solid-state, tactical, mobile, midrange 3D air search radar operating in the S band (IEEE designation) or E/F band (NATO designation). It is a streamlined version of the AN/TPS-78 and a predecessor to the G/ATOR radar. Utilizing digital beamforming with simultaneous stacked beam technology, the radar provides continuous, full-volume coverage, enabling it to detect high-speed, high-altitude targets while simultaneously identifying low-altitude targets amidst significant ground and sea clutter. All electronic components, including the transmitter, are housed within a single 14-foot (4.3 m) ISO shelter.
