Description
The Excalibur Shaped Trajectory (EST) is a further variant of this precision guided projectile introduced in October 2018 to meet the US Army requirements. The EST variant enables field commanders to eliminate targets in hard-to-reach locations or on-the-move by selected the projectile’s terminal or final phase attack angle. For example Excalibur EST makes possible to engage a bunker positioned on the opposite side of a mountain slope, target a multi-story building from the side rather than the top or defeat enemy assets positioned under highway overpasses. Raytheon completed the EST variant development in October 2018 being ready to move forward with serial production and fielding.
