Description
The Type 041A is an improved version expected to enter service in the 2014-2015 timeframe and may include a new air-independent propulsion (AIP) system. The PLAN plans call for the procurement of 20 boats by 2035. The program suffered several delays and the first boat was commissioned in July 2022.
