Description

XA-202/XA-202S This is a command vehicle based on the XA-200 chassis. The hull is divided into four sections: auxiliary power unit (APU) room, engine room, driver/commander compartment and operator room. A ring mount for a 12.7-mm machine gun is fitted above the commander. The XA-200 series armoured 6×6 wheeled vehicle is an updated production version of the XA series, of which over 700 vehicles have been produced. The series is manufactured by Patria Vehicles of Hameenlinna, Finland, formerly Sisu Vehicles. The vehicle is in service with the Finnish Army (104 XA-200 armoured personnel carriers), the Swedish Army (86 XA-203S basic vehicles and 18 XA-202S command vehicles) and the Norwegian Army (32 XA-200 armoured personnel carriers). The AMOS advanced mortar system has been integrated on the XA-200 chassis and trialled and evaluated by the Finnish Army. 24 AMOS systems (developed by Patria Hagglunds) were ordered by Finland for integration on the Patria 8×8 armoured modular vehicle.

Variants

XA-202/XA-202S This is a command vehicle based on the XA-200 chassis. The hull is divided into four sections: auxiliary power unit (APU) room, engine room, driver/commander compartment and operator room. A ring mount for a 12.7-mm machine gun is fitted above the commander.

XA-203/XA-203S This is an armored personnel carrier variant with a combat weight of 23 tons, including a payload of 7 tons.

XA-220 This is the latest variant, which was revealed by Patria in mid-2016. The vehicle offers more comfort, mine protection, armor protection, speed, all-terrain mobility and internal space compared to similar platforms, according to the manufacturer.
