Description
The Tien Chien V is a medium-range air-to-air missile developed by Taiwan with a similar performance to the United States Air Force AIM-120 AMRAAM. The new missile will have a maximum range of 160 kilometers and will be fitted with anti-jamming technology. The missile will be fitted with an active radar seeker. The Tien Chien V leverages some components from the Tien Chen II air-to-air missile. The Taiwanese government made public the new weapons program in August 2023 with the missile to enter service in the 2025-2030 timeframe.
