Description
The Falcon Eye is a high-resolution, optical, Earth Observation satellite designed and manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space and Thales Alenia Space for the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The program also includes the launch into orbit of two Falcon Eye spacecrafts and a ground segment. The ground segment takes care of monitoring, receiving and processing images. This cutting-edge system will also benefit from the expertise developed by Airbus Defence and Space in the field of highly agile and stable platforms. The program will be run from Airbus facility in Toulouse in the south of France. The Falcon Eye contract was signed in August 2014.
