Description

The US Army’s Indirect Fires Protection Capability (IFPC) program is aimed at delivering a ground-based, mobile, air defense system capable of hitting a wide variety of airborne targets. The IFPC system is intended to cover the gap between short-range air defense systems and the long-range Patriot system. The Army will require five battalions. Dynetics' Enduring Shield was awarded a $263 million contract in July 2025. Enduring Shield system will use the AIM-9X-2 missile as the primary interceptor. Each IFPC will be provided with up to 12 launchers and each launcher vehicle features 9 AIM-9X-2 missiles.
