Description
The EE-9 Cascavel Mark 3 was the first Cascavel built for export. Iran Imports a large number of its military weapons and vehicles from other countries. The Mark 3 was powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 352A 170-hp diesel engine connected to an Allison Transmission AT-540 automatic transmission. A central tire inflation system was fitted. Mark 3 vehicles were equipped with a French Hispano-Suiza H 90 turret with a Giat 90-mm gun. The H 90 turret carries 20 rounds for the main gun and 2,000 rounds for the coaxial 7.62-mm machine gun. Elevation was -8/+15 degrees and 360 degrees of the traverse. There were two smoke dischargers, one on ei the side of the turret rear.
