Description

EE-11 Urutu was developed to meet the requirements of the Brazilian Army for a troops transport. EE-11 is a 6x6 wheeled, amphibious, armored vehicle powered by a Detroit Diesel's 212-hp diesel engine. It can transport as many as 11 troops protected under armor in addition to its three-man crew. NBC protection was also provided to Urutus. Engesa/IMBEL developed several variants for medical evacuation, command and control, cargo transport, anti-aircraft vehicle and anti-armor missile carrier. It was exported to at least six countries.
