Bussard

The Bussard German Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is equipped with a laser rangefinder, illuminator, and target designator, allowing it to identify targets at great distances. When combined with radar-based cueing, it enables precise engagement across various domains and mission types. The system integrates seamlessly with battle management systems (BMS), supports beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) operations, and provides data transmission for effectors. This Ranger Class drone is designed for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, reconnaissance (ISTAR), and close air support (CAS). Built on a certified ultralight aircraft platform, it features military-grade avionics and advanced sensor technology—all developed in Germany. The UAV offers exceptional cost-effectiveness and operational capability to address modern military challenges. It includes an electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) gimbal equipped with a laser designator, allowing for advanced multi-spectral imaging and targeting capabilities. Its state-of-the-art airborne surveillance system boasts an impressive detection range of up to 370 km, enabling it to monitor vast areas with minimal operational assets. Additionally, the military-grade avionics system ensures reliable guidance, navigation, and flight control even in contested environments. The platform is also suitable for manned to unmanned conversion.
