Description

The Italian Army New Exploration and Escort Helicopter (NEES), now called the AW249, is a program aimed at delivering a replacement for the AW129 attack helicopter by 2025. The Italian Army plans call for the procurement of 48 aircraft. Leonardo Helicopters was awarded a contract for the development of the NEES aircraft in January 2017.
