Description

The CRM-203 is an X-band (9.3–9.5 GHz) naval radar designed for maritime navigation and surveillance. This solid-state, frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) sensor operates with very low transmission power, ranging from 1 mW to 2 W. It features automatic detection and tracking of up to 100 surface contacts within an instrumented range of 48 nautical miles (89 km), offering an accuracy of 50 meters and 0.1 degrees, with a beamwidth of 0.7 degrees. The antenna rotates at either 12 or 30 revolutions per minute. The CRM-203 includes ARPA (Automatic Radar Plotting Aid) anti-collision functions and built-in interfaces for AIS (Automatic Identification System) receivers, satellite compasses, GPS, gyroscopes, and other sensors, allowing integration with national maritime safety systems and other command and control systems. This sensor type is notably employed in the RM-100 coastal surveillance radar.
