KATANA Israeli Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV)
KATANA

The KATANA Israeli Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV) offers an unmanned solution for a wide range of homeland security and naval applications. Its modular and flexible architecture enables adaptation to specific customer and mission requirements. The KATANA Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) system can be installed on various vessels, each designed for different missions. All USVs are based on the same fundamental architecture, which supports autonomous navigation, mission planning, and remote control. Built upon this architecture, the USV system allows for the remote operation of payloads tailored to specific mission profiles. Additionally, Command & Control stations are included for remote operation management. The KATANA system facilitates dual-mode operations, enabling a seamless transition between operating as a USV or as a manned platform. By utilizing the KATANA USV, missions can be conducted remotely, reducing risk to personnel. Furthermore, the dual-mode capability ensures the efficient use of the same platform as either a USV or a manned vessel, depending on mission requirements. Key applications for the KATANA include: - Homeland and harbor security in coastal, shallow, and territorial waters - Surveillance and protection of oil, gas, and other critical assets - Firefighting and search and rescue operations - Intelligence gathering and surveillance - Security for critical assets, such as oil rigs and gas facilities - Fleet defense - Support for special forces - Security and patrol operations - Mine countermeasures (MCM) and anti-submarine warfare (ASW)
