Ground Master GM 403
The Ground Master 403 (GM 403) is a fully digital 3D air defense radar, part of ThalesRaytheonSystems' (TRS) Ground Master family, utilizing digital beamforming and an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA). Operating in the 2.9 to 3.3 GHz frequency band, it provides long-range detection up to 470 km, tracking targets from high-altitude aircraft to low-flying tactical aircraft and small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), with a range resolution of 200 meters. The system boasts an accuracy of 50 meters in range and 0.3 degrees in azimuth, with a beamwidth of 3 degrees, and can be deployed by a four-person crew in 30 minutes, fitting into a 20-foot shipping container and weighing less than ten tons. Designed for deployability, the GM 403 is distinct from the more powerful, fixed-site-oriented GM 406, and can operate autonomously or integrated into a networked air defense system, controlled locally or remotely, with a mean time between critical failures (MTBCF) exceeding 3,500 hours.
