Description

The People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) H-20 is a new strategic bomber being developed by the Shanghai Aircraft Design and Research Institute since 2008. The current H-20 bomber is based upon a hypersonic stealth fighter bomber concept. The PLAAF calls for the H-20 to control the South China Sea region carrying both conventional and nuclear weapons. In addition to stealth technology, the new bomber will be equipped with electronic warfare systems. The PLAAF may field the H-20 bomber by the end of the 2020s.
