Description
The GokTurk is an Earth observation satellite being developed by Telespazio and Thales Alenia Space for Turkish Ministry of Defense (MoD). The 250 million Euro developmental contract was awarded to a Telespazio-led team in December 2008. Telespazio is also responsible for all satellite launch and test services. The GokTurk spacecraft is equipped with a high-resolution optical sensor. The satellite system also includes an integration and test centre for satellites to be built in Turkey and ground segment, which will carry out in-orbit operation, data acquisition and processing.
