Description

The Raytheon Joint Standoff Weapon Extended Range (JSOW ER) is a modified version of the AGM-154 glide weapon powered by TJ-150 150-pound thrust engine supplied by Hamilton Sundstrand. The resulting weapon has a extended range of up to 300 nautical miles and tag price of $350,000 which turns JSOW ER into a low-cost, long-range missile. The JSOW ER would incorporate those improvements developed under JSOW Block II and JSOW Block III efforts as well as new payloads. Raytheon started the prototype design and test in 2007. JSOW ER will conduct a free flight in 2008 and could be available for production in 2011. The US Navy cancelled the JSOW ER program in favor of the longer range JASSM ER cruise missile.
