Shahid Soleimani

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy Lt. General Qasem Soleimani is a surface warship developed to hit sea targets at distances of up to 300 kilometers. The 65-meter ship falls into the corvette category and is expected to be commissioned in 2021 or 2022. The ship existence was revealed in late November 2021. The ship was finally unveiled and commissioned in September 2022 with the name of Shahid Soleimani. The ship features a catamaran design with stealth capabilities against radar detection and is fitted with vertical launch systems for both surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missiles. The surface-to-air missiles have a maximum range of 150 kilometers. Besides, the vessel is equipped with a flight deck for a Saba-248/Bell 206 type helicopter. The Shahid patrol vessel is highly maneuverable and delivers and smaller range compared to ships of the same category. All in, the ship seems to be intended to support defensive littoral warfare in the event of an attack by the US Navy or any other Navy in the Persian Gulf area.
