Description
The next-generation Syracuse IV communications satellite constellation is the replacement for the Syracuse III constellation in the 2021-2013 timeframe. The satellites, working in X and Ka bands, will offer increased performance in terms of communication capacity, flexibility and jamming resistance in order to meet the future needs of the French Armed Forces. Airbus Defence and Space is the prime contract and was awarded in May 2017 a contract for the study of the ground segment of the new constellation.
