Description
The 1L271 "Aistenok" (Russian for "little stork") is a mobile, lightweight battlefield radar designed for counter-mortar operations. Operating in the J band across eight selectable frequencies, it has an instrumented range of 20 km. The system comprises an antenna group (featuring a tripod, rotary pedestal, and a transceiver with a single-curvature parabolic antenna), a radar signal processing unit, a control panel, a radio station, and connecting cables, with a total weight of 135 kg. First showcased at military fairs in 2008, the 1L271 saw its initial combat deployment with Russian troops in Donbas, Ukraine.
