S-70i International Black Hawk

International Black Hawk is a multi-mission 10-ton class variant of H-60 helicopter to be produced with global partners and delivered from outside the United States. According to Sikorsky the International Black Hawk will be priced comparable to helicopters in the 6-8 ton class. Designed as a modular platform to meet specific requirements from a variety of customers while keeping the cost structure under control it will incorporate new technologies, state-of-the-art equipment and modern manufacturing techniques. The fully digital cockpit will include four axis Advanced Flight Control Systems (AFCS). Sikorsky Aircraft is promoting the International Black Hawk for global customers outside the United States. Using this approach the company will focus domestic operations on Black Hawk production for the United States military. The International Black Hawk program was launched in July 2006 at Farnborough air show. In September 2006, Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation and PZL Mielec of Poland signed a Memorandum of Understanding that would establish PZL Mielec as the assembly center for International Black Hawk helicopters. First aircraft components would be delivered in 2008 and the first International Black Hawk helicopter could come out the assembly line in 2010.
