AS565 MBe Panther

The Eurocopter AS565 MBe Panther is an enhanced version of the AS565 MB medium-weight twin-engine helicopter. The AS565 MBe enhanced helicopter is powered by two Arriel 2N turboshaft engines with dual-channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) which will offer improved performance in hot-and-high environments. The new model also incorporates new technologies and systems such as the EC155's main gearbox, new Starflex rotor head, and the application of a reinforced main rotor mast. These upgrades provide a 15 percent increase in power for better performance, a significant payload gain, and reductions in maintenance and operating costs. Eurocopter launched the AS365 N3e and AS565 MBe helicopters at Heli-Expo 2011. Certification is anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2013, with deliveries targeted to begin in early 2014. The Navy of Indonesia is the launch customer for the AS565 MBe Panther ASW helicopter with 11 aircraft ordered in 2014 with the first aircraft to be delivered in 2015.
