Description

The US Army and US Marine Corps selected the Oshkosh JLTV proposal on August 25, 2015. Initial procurement of 17,000 vehicles valued at $6.7 billion is expected to be completed by August 2024. The US Marine Corps will take delivery of 5,500 vehicles and the US Army will receive the remaining 11,500 vehicles. The deal includes three (2016-2019) years of Low Rate Initial Procurement (LRIP) and five (2019-2024) years of Full Rate Procurement (FRP). The Oshkosh JLTV provides the ballistic protection of a light tank, the underbody protection of an MRAP-vehicle, and top class off-road mobility traveling at speeds 70 percent faster over rugged terrain than the M-ATV MRAP vehicle. The platform combines Oshkosh CORE1080 crew protection and TAK-4i independent suspension. The JLTV-CCWC is a four-seat variant designed as a Close Combat Weapons Carrier. Montenegro ordered the JLTV equipped with Elbit Systems RCWS with a 12.7mm machine gun in December 2019.
