Description
The 64N6E2 is an improved variant of the 64N6E long-range air surveillance radar with a maximum detection range of 300 kilometers. The 64N6E2 was developed specifically in the 1990s for the S-300PMU2 Favorit air defense system. The 64N6E2 extended range radar entered service in 1996. In 2014 the Russian Armed Forces introduced the S-300V4 upgraded missile system with new electronics for the 64N6E2 radar which boosts its maximum detection range by 100 kilometers to an astonishing 400 kilometers.
