The Kh-95 is expected to travel at speeds above 10 Mach or 15 Mach, carrying a warhead yielding between 500 kilotons and 1 megaton and crossing distances of up to 4,000 or 5,000 kilometers. The new hypersonic missile existence was revealed to the public in late July 2021, early August 2021. It is expected to achieve initial operational capability by 2025 onboard the Tu-22M3M and Tu-160M2 bombers and by 2030 onboard the future PAK DA strategic bomber. As of November 2021 the first Kh-95 missile prototype has completed the first flight testing. The missile is expected to have a maximum range of 7,000 kilometers with the first 5,000 kilometers to be carried out at high subsonic or supersonic speeds and the last 2,000 kilometers to be carried out at hypersonic speed.
