Description

The Larva, also known as Larchinka or Izdeliye 70, is a hypersonic cruise missile developed on the basis of the Zircon ship-launched hypersonic cruise missile. The missile is capable of reaching Mach 10 speed with a maximum range of 150-200 (300) kilometers allowing hitting a target in just one minute. The Russian Air Force has been developing the Larva missile for integration onto the Su-57 stealth aircraft inside its weapons bay. The missile is the potential replacement for the Kh-31 air-launched anti-ship and anti-radar supersonic missile. The Larva missile existence was revealed in October 2021 and is expected to reach initial operational capability by 2025.
