Description
The TMD-40 Russian Anti-Vehicle Mine is a high-explosive (HE), elongated, wooden, pressure-actuated, anti-vehicle (AV), blast landmine that is very similar to the TM-39 and TM-40 landmines produced in the 1940s.

Fuze
The two MUV fuzes are located toward the two ends of the landmine case. Pressure is transmitted to the fuzes by two seesaw devices. Access to the fuze compartment is provided by sliding doors on both ends of the landmine case.

The TMD-40 pressure plate has bevelled edges, which collapse under a 250kg load.
