Description
The Taer 2 is a radar-guided surface-to-air missile (SAM) developed by the Islamic Republic of Iran under its domestic weapons program started in 1992 as a response to the United States arms embargo. It has been designed to shot down airborne targets flying at altitudes of 75,000-ft and at a maximum range of 50 kilometers. The Taer 2 is the primary missile used on the Raad medium-range air defense system. It was unveiled along with the Raad missile system during a military parade in Teheran on September 21, 2012.
