OPV 80
The OPV 80 is a class of Offshore Patrol Vessel designed and built by Fassmer Shipyard for the navies of Chile and Colombia. These modular vessels are 80 meters long and can perform patrol tasks in the littoral/coastal environment and at ranges of 10,000 nautical miles into the open ocean. These ships are equipped with flight deck, hangar, tactical radar, three interceptor boats and 30mm gun at the bow. The propulsion system consists of two diesel engines Wartsila 12V26 each rated at 4,080 kW allowing a top speed of 23 knots. Besides, these vessels provide support for operations of a single medium-sized 10-ton helicopter and up to three fast boats. Chile ordered four vessels delivered between 2008 and 2017 built by ASMAR shipyard and Colombia three vessels delivered between 2011 and 2017 built by COTECMAR shipyard.
