Description

The Ilyushin Slon, also known as Il-100, is a heavyweight transport aircraft designed to takeoff using runways of 3,000 meters carrying a cargo of 150-180 tons. The Slon aircraft designed as the An-124 transport aircraft successor is powered by four PD-26 turbofan engines (originally PD-35 engines were considered). The new aircraft’s aerodynamic configuration is closed related to that of the An-124. Russia expects to conduct the first flight of the new transport aircraft by 2028 entering into service by 2030-2035.
