9S15

The 9S15M is a high-capacity, coherent pulse S-Band radar that utilizes electronic elevation and mechanical azimuth scanning. It is designed for use with the Antey S-300V (NATO reporting name SA-12a Gladiator/SA-12b Giant) SAM system's command post or the radar data processing centers of automated air defense C2 system. --- Additional Data (TRADOC ODIN WEG) --- Frequency: 2.7–3.2 GHz (S, NATO Band E) Antenna Dimensions: 7.5 x 3 m Associated Weapon Systems: С-300В (S-300V): 9М83 / 9M83, 9М82 / 9M82 Role: 3D Surveillance/Acquisition Remarks: Main S-300V search radar --- From Radartutorial.eu (https://www.radartutorial.eu/19.kartei/02.surv/karte088.en.html) --- 9S15M Obzor-3 (Cyrillic: «Обзор-3», NATO reporting designation: “Bill Board”) is operating in the S band (IEEE designation) or in the F band (NATO designation) fully coherent 3D air surveillance and target acquisition radar for the S-300V (NATO reporting designation “SA-12”) surface-to-air missile system. When used exclusively as an tactical air surveillance radar, it was given the Russian designation 1RL140 (Cyrillic: "1РЛ140"). The radar uses an electrohydraulic rotating in azimuth and electronically scanning in elevation phased array antenna . It consists of a large array of the primary antenna and a smaller array mounted below for IFF interrogation. The transmitter is fitted with a traveling wave tube . The transmitted pulse contains a linear frequency modulated waveform . The radar is mounted on a single tracked vehicle that houses all the electronics, antennas, and power generators. This radar is also used in Syria as p/o “SA-12” surface-to-air missile system.
