Description

The RDR-4000 is an X-band (9.3–9.5 GHz) airborne navigation and weather radar. It employs a low-power solid-state transmitter and pulse compression technology, operating with a pulse repetition frequency of 200 Hz, a pulsewidth of at least 5.2 microseconds, and an instrumented range of 320 nautical miles (590 km). The system offers high-resolution ground mapping, Doppler beam-sharpened precision ground mapping, and sectored skin paint modes. The RDR-4000 is widely used internationally in its civil variant, while the military version, designated AN/APS-150, features a specialized display for refueling aircraft and is installed on platforms such as the C-17 Globemaster, C-130 Hercules, and Lockheed Martin LM-100J.
