JTPS-P25
The JTPS-P25 is an X-band 3D surveillance and acquisition radar, primarily designed for medium- and high-altitude, medium-range air surveillance against targets like aircraft and cruise missiles. It utilizes a four-faced active phased array antenna and has an instrumented range of 300 km. Developed by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation in 2014, the radar system is mounted on an 8x8 all-terrain heavy recovery vehicle manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, with hydraulically lifted antennas; the antenna facing the cab is further elevated to radiate over the radar electronics container. Since March 2019, the JTPS-P25 has been deployed in Japanese air defense, where it is intended to replace the older JTPS-P14 system.
