Description
The Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) CVX, formerly known as LPX II, is a conventionally-powered light aircraft carrier intended to enter service in the 2030-2035 timeframe. The new aircraft carrier is expected to get a fleet of F-35B vertical/short takeoff and landing (VSTOL) aircraft. Besides, the ship will operate rotary-wing aircraft in support of Korean Marines. The light aircraft carrier is expected to be build by Hyundai Heavy Industries with the commissioning anticipated by 2030-2040.
