Description

Stingray II is the upgraded model of Stingray light tank armed with a 105mm stabilized, recoil-less gun that fires all standard rounds, including 105mm NATO rounds. Its armament package also includes a 7.62mm coaxial mounted machine gun and commander's roof-mounted 12.7mm M2HB gun. Stingray II offers superior mobility and agility and the same lethality compared with a main battle tank. Overall, Stingray II delivers similar capabilities than heavier main battle tanks but at lower costs. Stingray II frontal section offers ballistic protection against 23mm ammunition to its crew of four-man. In addition to its armor, 16 smoke grenade launchers provide additional survivability. The sighting system and other systems modifications provide improved target engagement capabilities. It is powered by a Detroit Diesel 8V92 TA diesel engine rated at 550-hp which allows for a maximum speed of 70 kph and ranges of more than 500 kilometers at 48 kph.
