Description

The 9M38 is a medium-range, Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) designed to engage aerodynamic targets as well as short range ballistic missiles. It features high maneuverability and a semi-active radar guidance system. The 9M38 missile has been designed to engage targets flying at a maximum speed of Mach 4 from any direction and targets flying at 15 meters of altitude. The 9M38 missile is employed on the Russian Buk-M1, Buk-M2 air defense systems and Shtil, and Yohz shipborne SAM systems.
