Description

The Kronos Land is a mobile, C-band (IEEE designation) or G-band (NATO designation) multifunctional battlefield radar system manufactured by Leonardo of Italy. It is designed to support air and coastal defense tactical operations, simultaneously performing surveillance, dedicated target tracking, and electronic protective measures (EPM). Equipped with an active phased array antenna, the system provides surveillance and tracking capabilities, supporting threat assessment and fire control against various air and sea threats, including aircraft, high-speed missiles, low-level unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), helicopters, rockets, artillery shells, ships, and small boats. The Kronos Land, a land-based version of the naval Kronos 3D, can be integrated into surveillance networks or control short-range air defense (SHORAD) and very short-range air defense (VSHORAD) systems, such as the Sirius battlefield air defense system from MBDA S.A.S.
