Description

The Patroller is a long-endurance surveillance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for both defense and security missions developed by Sagem and Stemme. The Patroller is fitted with the Euroflir gyrostabilized electro-optical sensor payload, an synthetic aperture radar (SAR) from OHB, and a satcom-based beyond line-of-sight low rate data link. Optionally, it can be equipped with an airborne relay and maritime radar. The Patroller takes off using a runway and shares the ground control segment and parts of the avionics with the Sperwer UAV also produced by Sagem. Patroller made its first flight on June 10, 2009 at the Kemijarvi test site in Finland. The French Army has ordered 14 Patroller systems equipped with the PicoSAR AESA radar.
