Description
The Jericho II is an improved variant of Jericho ballistic missile featuring greater range and payload. It was developed by Israel during the 1980s and deployed in the early 1990s featuring solid propellant and two stages. With a range of approximately 1,500 kilometers and a payload of 1,000 kg Jericho 2 can take out the majority of Arab capitals surrounding Israel. It can be launched from either underground silos or mobile platforms. The Jericho 2 ballistic missile was also used as the basis for the Shavit space launch vehicle.
