AN/MPQ-65

The AN/MPQ-65, also known as PAC-3, is a C-band (IEEE designation) or G-band (NATO designation) passive electronically scanned phased array radar. Mounted on M860 semi-trailers, this missile defense radar, manufactured by Lockheed Martin in the United States, replaced the AN/MPQ-53 radar set under the Patriot PAC-3 program. Operating with an instrumented range of 100 km, the AN/MPQ-65 offers significant improvements in expanded search, threat detection, identification, and engagement capabilities, achieved in part by an expanded radar search sector volume and the use of a second traveling wave tube.
