Description

The Toufan-5 is a man-portable surface-to-surface anti-tank missile with enhanced armor penetration capability developed by Iran. It features a tandem warhead to penetrate reinforced armor used on Western tanks such as M1A1 Abrams. Besides, Toufan-5 is also suitable for taking out armored vehicles and personnel carriers. This weapon system could be used against a potential invasion by the United States and its allies on the making since 2008. The Toufan-5 missile system existence was revealed during the inauguration ceremony of its production line in February 2010.
