Description
The AN/TPX-3 is a secondary surveillance radar (SSR) manufactured by Hazeltine. Operating in the 157 to 187 MHz frequency range with a pulse repetition frequency of 200 to 750 Hz and a pulsewidth of 5 to 8 µs, it functions as an auxiliary system. Its primary purpose is to identify aircraft detected by the AN/TPS-3 radar as either friendly or hostile, working in conjunction with but not as an integral part of the AN/TPS-3 system.
