Description

The 9S35 (NATO designation: “Fire Dome”) is a C/X-band (IEEE designation) or H/I-band (NATO designation) target tracking and engagement radar, integral to the 9K37 Buk (SA-11 “Gadfly”) anti-aircraft missile system. Operating with a peak power of 1 kW and an instrumented range of 85 km, it provides limited search and acquisition capabilities, alongside tracking and continuous wave (CW) illumination for the terminal guidance of semi-active homing surface-to-air missile (SAM) seekers. A single antenna manages two transmit/receive channels: one for pulsed mode, utilizing linear chirp for pulse compression in search and track functions, and another for CW illumination.
