Description

The Lazika is a 14-ton class tracked infantry fighting vehicle designed and manufactured in Georgia by the DELTA Design Bureau. The tracked chassis vehicle is equipped with an unmanned turret armed with a 23mm gun and 7.62mm machine gun as well as night vision and thermal cameras. The vehicle's crew comprises a driver, gunner and commander with seating capacity for up to seven infantrymen. The multi-layer armor provides protection against ballistic projectiles of up to 14.5mm including armor piercing rounds. The Lazika was unveiled at the Vasiani military testing ground, Georgia, in late February 2012. The Georgian Ministry of Defense may take delivery of the first production Lazika fighting vehicles in 2012 or 2013.
