Kurganets
Kurganets

The Kurganets-25 (Object 695) is a family of medium armored vehicles (MAV) intended to transport an infantry squad protected under armor to the frontline of the battlefield. It features a high degree of commonality with the T-14 main battle tank as well as modular armor that can be upgraded to specific threats. The Kurganets is fully amphibious propelled by two water-jets at the rear of the hull providing a swimming speed of 10 kilometers per hour. Besides, the vehicle is provided with a sensor package including thermal imager, eye-safe laser rangefinder, GPS/INS navigation system and computer-based automatic fire control system with autonomous target selection. The Kurganets-25 platform may evolve into several models replacing the BMP-2, BMP-3, MT-LB and other types of tracked armored vehicles within the Russian Army. The Kurganets platform may serve as the chassis for the development for the replacement of the Tunguska, Tor-M and Strela-10 air defense systems as well as long range anti-tank missile carrier among other applications. The Kurganets-25 was first spotted during the rehearsal of the Victory Day parade in Alabino outside Moscow on March 23, 2015.
